"When we got to the point of making the decision to build the new building in Renton, the building was clearly going to require an intrusion system as well as a fairly involved fire detection system because of the storage of our pool chemicals. We knew that we needed a pretty sophisticated monitoring system, so while we had a long established relationship with Washington Alarm, we felt that the prudent thing to do was to shop other alarm companies to make sure that we were getting what we wanted and needed for the right price. Our preference was to use Washington Alarm at the new building if they were competitive in their bid. Their bid actually came in lower than the other bids. Having heard the horror stories about less ethical companies and their sales tactic of intentionally bidding low to get the job and then adding thousands of dollars worth of change orders during the project, we went through the quote with Washington Alarm to make sure nothing was missed and in fact the quotes were entirely accurate!"

"We were working with a competitor of Washington Alarm and we had a lot of issues--not only in the maintenance of the system, but particularly when we had alarms. With the competitor, we would get phone calls from someone in Minnesota, and they were very impersonal and difficult to work with. The competitor would automatically dispatch the police and then notify us...so one of us, generally me, would have to drive down to the shop in the middle of the night, only to meet the police and get my own people out of the building. Washington Alarm has been really great to work with because they are local and they understand us. Their Central Station operators take the time to try and understand why an alarm has gone off before dispatching the police. Since we switched to Washington Alarm I have not had to come out here in the middle of the night, that's a plus!"
